About
About Me
Hey there, I’m Rye. A recipe-lover, adventurer, organizer, holiday planner, faithful believer! If you ask my children, or their teachers, they probably also say “helicopter mom”. (I would argue that I am too old to fly one.)
That’s right, I am also a mom of 3 beautiful children and a soulmate, plus the CFO to my husband.
Recipe-lover = Good Cook?
At young age, watching my father, a chef for the Grand Hotel, the cook for the family and neighbors, I would say I am a quick learner, observer and taster.
I often say that I got an iron stomach from my mom and a good palate from my dad, so in between the hustle and bustle of life, I am happily immersed in my passions: researching mouthwatering recipes and creating culinary masterpieces in the kitchen.
As a busy woman, I reinvent every recipe that I tried and found from different places, each dish not only tantalizes the taste buds of family and friends but also is easy for every busy mom and dad.
More than a Traveler, an Adventurer?
Life is a journey. There’s meaning to be found in every step of the Journey.
I grew up in a diverse big family (Dutch, Taiwanese and Japanese) and married to a similar kind (Puerto Rican, Spanish and French). We moved and lived in different places.
Throughout my career, I have relocated 3 times and traveled to 44 countries and 35 states. Now traveling and adventuring is more than a commitment, but our nickname!
Let us take you along on the journey!
Inspiring Love Stories
This is the place where I share inspiring love stories.
Just to fill you in on how this “project” came to light (considering we are VERY private): Learning to navigate life in a new country that speaks a different language is hard enough, but having a career that requires traveling or being constantly on the road, with no family or relatives around, we are raising 3 children with different needs including a medical-need child on our own and on the move,… Indeed, it requires a lot of courage to share our stories with the hope to help more people and families.
Believer – Faith, Hope and Joy
A beautiful quote says:
Faith gives us Strength. Grace gives us Power. Hope gives us Anchor.
Another quote says: Struggles test the strength of our faith. “We” test the power of God’s grace and are the commanders of the anchor of our hope.
Agree? Or not. Nonetheless, this is not a religion blog or a blog tries to define a set of acceptable behavior and a human activity. Simple, a lifestyle blog sharing ways of living with faith, hope and joy.
